Applications : White LEDs
These are very small light emitting chips (otherwise known as Light Emitting Diodes), that produce light, last longer, and consume less energy than any other manmade light source in the world. Though not perfected as yet, LEDs are gaining in popularity around the world and across a dizzying array of applications (your automobile’s dashboard and headlamp, street lights, consumer electronics, etc.) as the world’s concern for energy efficiency grows. Our GaN-on-Diamond technology has the potential to take LEDs two generations into the future by enabling very high current-density LEDs that can’t be designed today because of limitations in conventional materials.
